TV News: The CW Announces Three New Shows, New Nights For ‘Top Model,’ ‘Supernatural’

CHICAGO – There have been a number of surprising announcements of new nights for hit shows this week (“Two and a Half Men,” “Glee,” “Revenge,” “Community”) and The CW closed out the trend this morning by announcing their Fall schedule and revealing that “America’s Next Top Model” and “Supernatural” will swap evenings.

While the other networks have fallen relatively in line with predictions (CBS, NBC, and ABC have yet to do anything that we didn’t predict in our feature earlier this week), The CW is shaking it up a bit as they just announced the renewal of “Nikita,” “Hart of Dixie,” and “Gossip Girl” (for a sixth and final season of 11 episodes) while TV By the Numbers reports that the network has signed on five new dramas. CHICAGO – The new FOX prehistoric series “Terra Nova” was a bit of a disappointment in its premiere episode Monday night, posting a 3.1 rating in the highly coveted 18-49 age group. The show premiered for two hours from 7-9 p.m. CST.

CHICAGO – While news of ABC ending “Desperate Housewives” has spread, the entertainment group has announced that plans have been made to develop “The Lincoln Lawyer” into a drama series. Calling for a pilot script to be created, ABC appears to see some potential in a possible series after the success of the feature film and book series about a lawyer who conducts his business out of his Lincoln town car.

We batted 1.000 on NBC and The CW (and missed no more than one on any network and three overall), as the latter has announced in advance of their full schedule presentation on Thursday that they will bring “Nikita” and “One Tree Hill” back for another season but that “Hellcats” is officially done.
