CHICAGO – Roman Coppola, Oscar-nominated as you read this for his great work co-writing “Moonrise Kingdom” (he also co-wrote “The Darjeeling Limited” with Wes Anderson) brings us the truly odd “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III,” now available On Demand and opening this Friday in Chicago. The film proves two things – that Charlie Sheen is a better actor than his public persona and stint on “Two and a Half Men” may have led you to believe and that he needs to find a character to prove that instead of this riff on his real-life drama.

TV News: ‘Two and a Half Men’ Destroys Ratings, ‘The Playboy Club’ Bombs
Submitted by BrianTT on September 20, 2011 - 8:34am.CHICAGO – Well, that was predictable. As expected, audiences were curious about how “Two and a Half Men” would handle the departure of Charlie Sheen and the arrival of Ashton Kutcher. The most important demo numbers aren’t in yet but the overall household ratings (the first numbers released) were ludicrously high with season premiere numbers for the CBS hit that doubled last year’s first episode.

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ Continues to Endure
Submitted by mattmovieman on August 10, 2011 - 6:38am.CHICAGO – John Hughes’s creative peak in the 1980s was brought about by a great deal of writing in a very small period of time. According to legend, Hughes wrote the script for his 1986 cult classic, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” in only seven days while under the threat of a writer’s strike. He was gifted at churning out films, but his prolific nature caused him to noticeably repeat himself.
Blu-Ray Review: 25th Anniversary of Oliver Stone’s Devastating ‘Platoon’
Submitted by BrianTT on May 26, 2011 - 2:59pm.CHICAGO – Oliver Stone’s “Platoon” is easily one of the most important films in my life. It came out in theaters when I was eleven and I saw it not long after that on VHS. My parents decided that, despite the intensity of the film, its subject matter was important enough that I could handle it even at a young age. I remember being simply blown away by the movie for numerous reasons.
