CHICAGO – God, I love “The Muppets.” It’s such a wonderful, joyful, fun movie. As someone who is forced to see dozens of family films a year, I can tell you that most of them are not full of joy. They are full of pop culture references and gross-out jokes but they are nowhere near as smart, fun, or fantastic as “The Muppets,” a great movie with a great Blu-ray set that will stand the test of time.

Amy Adams and Jason Segel join Kermit the Frog, Walter and Rowlf in Disney’s THE MUPPETS.

The cast features Segel, Amy Adams and Chris Cooper alongside Muppet stars Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and newcomer Walter.

CHICAGO – The Muppets stand on such a pedestal for an entire generation that there was an understandable amount of trepidation when it was announced that Jason Segel and Disney were moving forward with a reboot. How could it possibly live up to our expectations?

CHICAGO – Warner Bros. on Thursday released an official production picture for audiences to take a first look at the new Superman and his new suit, set to be appearing in the series’ next installment “Superman: Man of Steel.”

CHICAGO – In the same day major news broke out about “The Dark Knight Rises,” another key casting choice in an equally anticipated Warner Brothers/Legendary Pictures production has also been buzzing throughout cyberspace.

CHICAGO – It was recently revealed in our forums that “Superman: Man of Steel” may shoot right here in the Windy City and one of the stars who could be spending time on Michigan Avenue is the controversial Lindsay Lohan, who is reportedly eyeing a role in the film already co-starring Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.

CHICAGO – One of the strongest ensembles of 2010 worked together to create the crowd-pleasing “The Fighter,” a film with multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, that walked home with two major trophies for Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale) and Best Supporting Actress (Melissa Leo). Sometimes it’s hard to tell if a film will stand the test of time (the jury is still out on how history will judge “The Social Network” and “The King’s Speech”) but there is little doubt that “The Fighter” will be satisfying audiences for decades. A great Blu-ray release from Paramount doesn’t hurt.
