Here is the “The Book of Eli” plot description:

In the not-too-distant future some 30 years after the final war, a solitary man walks across the wasteland that was once America. Empty cities, broken highways and a seared Earth all around him are the marks of catastrophic destruction. There is no civilization here and no law. The roads belong to gangs that would murder a man for his shoes, an ounce of water or for nothing at all.

But they’re no match for this traveler.

A warrior not by choice but necessity, Eli (Denzel Washington) seeks only peace. If challenged, though, he will cut his attackers down before they realize their fatal mistake. It’s not his life he guards so fiercely but his hope for the future. It’s a hope he has carried and protected for 30 years and is determined to realize. Driven by this commitment and guided by his belief in something greater than himself, Eli does what he must to survive and continue.

Only one other man in this ruined world understands the power Eli holds and is determined to make it his own: Carnegie (Gary Oldman), who is the self-appointed despot of a makeshift town of thieves and gunmen. Meanwhile, Carnegie’s adopted daughter, Solara (Mila Kunis), is fascinated by Eli for another reason: the glimpse he offers of what may exist beyond her stepfather’s domain.

But neither will find it easy to deter him. Nothing and no one can stand in his way. Eli must keep moving to fulfill his destiny and bring help to a ravaged humanity.

Alcon Entertainment presents a Silver Pictures production and a Hughes brothers film. The film stars two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington (“Training Day,” “Glory”), Gary Oldman (“The Dark Knight,” the “Harry Potter” films), Mila Kunis (“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”), Ray Stevenson (“Punisher: War Zone”), Jennifer Beals (Showtime’s “The L Word”), Frances de la Tour and Michael Gambon (both of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”).

My survival skills have been put into action by moving to numerous cities in my life time without a job, money saved, or knowing anyone.

We were in Europe in a tiny

We were in Europe in a tiny farming village hanging out at the local “hot spot”. Late in the evening we found out that the bathroom was out of order…right when I had to go number 2 of course. My cousin and I decided we would go outside…across the street was a pine forest…no leaves to wipe with. We walked until we found a farmer’s field…luckily he grew cabbage…we pulled off some of the cabbage leaves so that we would have “toilet paper” and of to the forest we went…talk about survival skills…cabbage leaves…really

Survival Instinct

Cutting coupons, selling things for 99 cents…whatever it takes. It’s worth it when you can support yourself and don’t need a man to pay your bills.
