LAS VEGAS – Endo, the up-and-coming powerhouse band from Sin City, recently announced their debut album, “Anhedonia,” which will release on Friday, May 14th, 2021. It’s two-person rock, with John Badwolf on vocals/guitar and Saint Christopher on drums. Their (click links) 13 track debut includes the single “In Love With You.”

The rock pair was involved in every step of the creative process for their debut – laying down, mixing and mastering the tracks, in addition to creating the artwork for the album. Besides the original songs, the brothers in sound cover a Tom Waits song, the notably titled “Heartattack and Vine.”

Jeff Doles, the music writer of HollywoodChicago.com, recently sat down with John and Chris of Endo, to talk about the new album and the future beyond the pandemic.

HollywoodChicago.com: Your music is raw and powerful. I hear a hint of the Doors in the vocals and White Stripes with the instrumental reverb. Who would you say your influences are and what sound are you searching for?

John Badwolf: There’s definitely some Jack White in there, and a lot of older guys too like Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters, and Magic Sam. I’ve always been a big fan of guys who just found their own sound … when you hear that first note you know who they are. We try to have our biggest influence be whatever we feel like listening to that day and let it take us wherever that goes. The goal is just to sound genuine – that’s all I really care about.

Saint Christopher: We really try not to overthink it and just be authentically ‘us’ whenever possible. I’d like to think that comes through on this record. Our only criteria was to capture genuine moments in all their raw, gritty glory.

HollywoodChicago.com: What is the origin of the band, and how did you know that doing a power duo would work?

John: Well, we had been working together for a while and I had a bunch of songs kind of half written but I needed a drummer. I had listened to some of the stuff that Chris had done before and really liked it, so I asked if he wanted to play drums for me. We just ended up booking some studio time and found we clicked playing together really quickly.

Chris:  I’ve honestly never played drums before, but I was really digging the songs John was showing me, so I wanted to give it a shot. Somehow, it all worked out. We already had a good rapport as friends, so it wasn’t a huge surprise to find out that musically we meshed too.

HollywoodChicago.com: Give everybody an idea of where Las Vegas bands play live, and where you hope to play in the future …

John: We’ve played a few times at the Sand Dollar in Vegas and down at Joe’s Grotto in Phoenix, but we’d really like to set up a proper tour. Playing RiotFest over in Douglas Park is kind of my big dream, though.

Chris: Obviously 2020 threw a wrench into everyone’s plans and greatly limited availability. We’re really excited to play anywhere that’ll have us. But yeah, RiotFest would be amazing.

HollywoodChicago.com: Sometimes it takes a village to build a sound. Is there anyone you’d like to thank for their help along the way, and where can your fans learn more about the band and your upcoming performances?

John: It’s always hard to pick individual people to thank for stuff like this. I’d really just like to thank everyone who was just there for us when we needed help. All the people who when we’d call they’d pick up the phone. Finding people who will actually show up is hard to find these days.

Chris: Our personal and professional support systems, for sure. Every friend, relative, and stranger who’s had our back – and continues to – is in our debt.

John: Instagram is probably where we post the most and update the most so follow us on there @endobandofficial. All of our links are in our bio is there as well.
