CHICAGO – Singer Bobby Brown has been all over the news of late, mostly because of the new memoir he’s authored (with Nick Chiles) called “Every Little Step.” He aims to set the record straight on his tumultuous career, especially regarding his marriage with the late Whitney Houston, which culminated when they split in 2007.

Bobby Brown co-founded the boy group New Edition when he was nine years old, and found fame with group with hits like “Cool It Now” and “Mr. Telephone Man.” He was only 17 years old when he left the group in 1986, but hit it big with his second solo album, “Don’t Be Cruel” (1988), featuring the monster song “My Perogative.” He has only released three albums since then, the latest being “The Masterpiece” (2012).

Arguably, Brown became as famous for marrying singer Whitney Houston in 1992, and they had a daughter a year later – Bobbi Kristina Brown. Brown and Houston had a troubled marriage, featuring drug issues, infidelity and allegations of abuse (the marriage was also chronicled in public for one season on the infamous reality show “Being Bobby Brown”). The couple divorced in the 2007, and Houston passed away five years later. Tragically, Brown’s daughter Bobbi also passed away three years later.

Bobby Brown made an appearance on behalf of his memoir, “Every Little Step” (the title was taken from one of his songs), and that book event was sponsored by Anderson’s Bookshop of Naperville, Illinois. Joe Arce, photographer for HollywoodChicago.com, was at the event on June 17th, 2016, and was the only area photographer to get an Exclusive Portrait session with the singer.

“Every Little Step: My Story” by Bobby Brown, is available at Anderson’s Bookshop or wherever books are sold.
