CHICAGO – The advantage of living in a film town like Chicago is the opportunity to experience a variety of cinema from all around the world. The Asian Pop-Up Cinema series is one of those experience providers, and they will be premiering an amazing look at modern romance, “Poison Berry in My Brain.” The film will screen on December 4th, 2015, at the Wilmette Theater in Wilmette, Ill.

“Poison Berry” plays like the adult version of the recent animated “Inside Out,” and is the feature film debut of director Yuichi Sato. Based on a popular manga in Japan, it follows the romance exploits of Ichiko (Yoko Maki), a shy novelist who has been burned in relationships before, but is willing to give it another shot at her 30th birthday. The problem is within her own head, as personified by a committee of “controllers” who guide her thoughts and actions. The highly creative film is a treat, and covers all the angles of potential love and inner fulfillment.
