CHICAGO – It’s easy to pitch “The Inbetweeners” as a British version of “Superbad” or “American Pie” in that it’s about a quartet of awkward teenagers trying to get drunk, get popular, and, most importantly, get laid.

However, that shouldn’t diminish what to expect here — this is no rip-off. It’s a DAMN funny show with an incredibly raunchy but very smart sense of humor. Yes, there are some episodes that don’t work, but the batting average is much higher than your average sitcom. Check it out before the movie version makes its way stateside or the MTV version hits the air. You won’t regret it.
