CHICAGO – As if you weren’t going to see “The Hunger Games” anyway, Summit announced today that the first teaser trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” would be attached to the guaranteed blockbuster. The screaming of teenage girls should be deafening.

The fifth and final film in the “The Twilight Saga” stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner from the fourth book by Stephenie Meyer. It was written by Melissa Rosenberg and directed by Bill Condon. The first “Twilight” film was released in November of 2008 with “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” following a year later, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” releasing in June of 2010, and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” came out on November 18, 2011. The four films have combined for over a billion dollars in ticket sales in the United States alone. The last “Breaking Dawn” film made $281 million domestically, the third highest total of 2011.

“The Hunger Games,” based on the book by Suzanne Collins, hopes to be the next “Twilight” franchise. Opening on March 23rd, 2011, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Harrelson.
