CHICAGO – Remember how we told you back in October that the FX hit series “Sons of Anarchy” was going to be renewed for a fifth season. Well, that season has not premiered yet, nor is there a release schedule set up yet, but FX is willing to invest even more in their hit drama. The basic cable network officially signed a deal for a sixth season of production for “Sons” that will follow the yet-to-be-released fifth season.

The deal for a sixth season of “Sons of Anarchy” also comes with the news that creator and showrunner Kurt Sutter signed a new three year deal with FX. We can only speculate if the three year deal means more seasons of “Sons” after six, but for now fans of the show can get excited that this drama will be around for at least two more full seasons. Take it from an “Arrested Development”/“Freaks and Geeks”/“Community” fan…that comfort is not felt by many shows.
