Here is the synopsis for the 30th anniversary of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” at the Music Box Theatre:

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Music Box presents a digitally restored edition of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”: Steven Spielberg’s action-packed and adventure-filled homage to the Saturday matinee cliffhanger serials of his childhood.

When the allies discover the Nazis are planning to use the Lost Ark of the Covenant as a weapon, the U.S. government enlists archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) to locate the biblical treasure chest.

Indiana Jones = Adventure

Love the Indiana Jones series! Such great movies. And Indy is such an awesome character. The longevity of the movies and the fact that I’m giddy to see it in the theater only strengthens the argument!

Indiana Jones is the ultimate cinematic adventurer?

True. Indie can do so many things as “all good professors” do. He’s the James Bond of the archaeology sect.

True. He was made that way by design by three of the best filmmakers of the time. (Before Lucas went crazy of course).

Indiana Jones

Indie is most certainly the ultimate cinematic adventurer because he kicked off the trend and set the bar for adventure cinema upon the first film’s release. He’s daring, smart, good-looking, tough and has a deep respect for artifacts he sets out to find and protect.
