Here is the plot description for “50/50”:

Inspired by personal experiences, “50/50” is an original story about friendship, love, survival and finding humor in unlikely places. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen star as best friends whose lives are changed by a cancer diagnosis. Rogen also serves as producer along with Evan Goldberg and Ben Karlin. Jonathan Levine directs from a script by Will Reiser.

“We worked with Will on ‘Da Ali G Show’ and it was shortly after that we learned he was sick.” Rogen recalls. “As shocking, sad, confusing and generally screwed up as it was, we couldn’t ignore that – because we were so ill-equipped to deal with the situation – funny things kept happening. Will got better, and when he did, we thought the best way to pull something good out of the situation was to get him to write a screenplay.”

Rogen added: “Ideally we wanted to make a film that would be as funny, sad and hopefully as honest as the experience we went through. As soon as the script was completed, it quickly became a passion project for all of us. It helped us come to terms with Will’s struggle as well as our own experiences.”

“50/50” is the story of a guy’s transformative and, yes, sometimes funny journey to health. “50/50” draws its emotional core from Will Reiser’s own experience with cancer. The film reminds us that friendship and love – no matter what bizarre turns they take – are the greatest healers.

She was the rock of the famuily and we miss her very much and love her deep within our hearts! The way cancer took her, made me see just how mortal we really are and easy life can be taken from us in a blink of an eye!

cancer

An old classmate of mine had breast cancer. It was difficult to deal with as she was very engaging and inviting. I wish she had more time on this Earth so others could’ve been affected by her.

Cancer

My fake mom went through breast cancer exactly five years ago and beat the illness. She didn’t know what to think back then about being diagnosed and having two young daughter to take care of. This past month she was diagnosed with brain cancer; her breast cancer had spread into her brain. She was so upbeat, there was never a tear by anyone. She knew she was going to be okay and keeps living life to this day. She is the happiest person I know and I’m proud to call her my friend. Not only has she taught me to live life to the fullest but to never hold back on what you want to do with your life. Anything is possible and any bump in the way will only make you stronger.

when i was in elmentary

when i was in elmentary school there was a boy in my class that was going through cancer. he would miss a lot of school and he ended up losing his hair. at that time i had no idea what cancer was. so a couple years later after the years of him trying to beat cancer he suddenly died from cancer. no one understood why, our teachers tried to explain what it was, we still didn’t have a grasp on what it was. we asked how he got it and they just couldn’t tell us, they said they didn’t know why.
