Here is the plot description for “A Better Life”:

From the director of “About a Boy” and the producers of “A Single Man” and “In Good Company” comes “A Better Life”: a touching, poignant, multi-generational story about a father’s love and the lengths a parent will go to build a better life for his child.

Carlos Galindo always dreamed of a better life for his wife and newborn son when he crossed the border into the U.S. But when his wife left him – wanting more than he could give – Carlos’ only goal became to make sure his son Luis was given the opportunities he never had.

After years of hard work and trying to set an example for his son, he still finds himself drifting apart from Luis. Luis is at an impressionable teen age where succumbing to peer pressure could lead him down a dangerous path. Seeing a way to control their own destiny, Carlos takes what little money he has and invests it all into his own gardening business. Luis believes that is their only chance to stay together and finally achieve the better life he always envisioned for his son.

However, after an unexpected turn of events when everything he’s worked for is suddenly taken away, it is Luis – despite years of growing apart – who teams up with Carlos to take it back. Together, father and son embark on a physical and spiritual journey where they discover something more important: that family is the most important part of the American dream. The film will be released in the U.S. via Summit Entertainment. The Chicago release date is July 8, 2011. “A Better Life” is rated “PG-13”.

The Best Way To Give A Child A Better Life?

A parent can only provide what they are able to. However, the best way to give a child a better life would be to suit them in a better environment, a better education, better moral values, and a better sense of self-worth than the parent had themselves as a child. Outfitted in such, a child will definitely have the opportunity for a better life, but each person still makes their own decisions and a child is definitely still a person. Parents can’t monitor children 100% of the time or make their every decision, that’s simply impossible.

I think the best way is to show respect, and for them to have good row models.
Always listen and make sure you know what they are doing.

Better Life

My idea of giving my son a better life is just to do my best for him. Also, try to teach him to be a better person then I. to hopefully not make the same mistakes I did but to teach him to get up and learn from the ones he did make. Also just to work hard to provide a life that I never had. While remembering time is the best thing you could give to anyone so always being there for him and giving him time need to be a stable well-rounded child. To me just the fact that he has two parents here a mother and father that loves him unconditionally is a start in giving him a better life.

Best way to give a child a better life

I think the best way to give your child a better life is to give them to tools to build their own future.
I’ve learned that giving too much can be a detriment. Education, love, attention are important building blocks, but they are not the only factors, sometimes taking time to talk, lead by example, teach them the things that they will need to know in life, give them responsibilities to begin to manage their own lives, give them opportunities to learn, to make mistakes, to grow and become independant. Find out what they are good at and develop those gifts, and encourage striving for their goals (write them down) and celebrate when they are acheived.
