Because Chicago is such a beautiful city with great buildings and a ton of history. It’s got the gothic style buildings as well as the skyscrapers. Also, streets like LaSalle leading up to the BOT are great shots for any movie. Look at what they did with the Dark Knight.

For one, there is no skyline like ours. Explosions are so much grand from an arial view.

BLOW UP CHICAGO

There are many things about Chicago that make it the perfect city to be blown up in a blockbuster movie including, but not limited to the architectural structures, the constant heavy traffic, the diversity of the city, & it’s reputataion as a major US city.

Transformers in Chicago.

I have always been a proponent to have great big blockbusters happen in Chicago. We have seen our share of cop dramas, superheroes and comedies. Its finally time that the city gets blown up by no other than Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg. Since most of the city was affected by the shooting of this film last summer, it will be a treat to see it on the large screen getting pulverized.

Thanks in advance if I and my foreign exchange student (who leaves next Tuesday) can see the film early. His flight was delayed last summer due to the shooting.

Thanks again Adam!

TV, DVD, BLU-RAY & THEATER REVIEWS

  • Kingpin Blu-ray

CHICAGO – Before 1998’s “The Big Lebowski” there was 1996’s “Kingpin”, the Farrelly brothers bowling comedy that didn’t have the narrative intricacies of the Coen brothers’ classic, but had plenty of jokes about middle-aged men playing the sport. Today finds the release of “Kingpin” to Blu-ray for the first time, coming with only one new special feature.

  • Star Trek Into Darkness

CHICAGO – With J.J. Abrams not involved with the creation of a third “Star Trek” movie, a compendium of his work within the franchise only seems fitting. Loaded with special features but only a few new ones, this disc set is a strong choice for those who don’t already have both entertaining blockbusters in their collection.
