Sad news via Variety:

Actor Brad Renfro was found dead at his Los Angeles home early Tuesday, according to his lawyer Richard Kaplan.

The actor, who appeared in “Apt Pupil” and “The Client” as a child, was 25.

Renfro served 10 days in jail in May 2006 after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated and pleading guilty to attempted possession of heroin.

He had recently completed shooting “The Informers” with Winona Ryder and Billy Bob Thornton.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., he was discovered by director Joel Schumacher who cast him in “The Client” at age 10. He also appeared in “Law and Order: Criminal Intent,” “Ghost World,” “Tom and Huck” and “The Cure.”

That's really sad.

Sites are reporting the cause of death to be “unknown”. If you had to guess, what do you think was the cause? Here’s a photo of him in case you don’t know what he looks like:

Drugs

The heroin arrest in 2006 really sticks out. I don’t know. It’s a lot like that Avary DUI thing: speculation at this point is really salacious and pointless. It’s sad. Another one of those actors who almost-but-not-quite got to their potential.

Anytime you hear the cause

Anytime you hear the cause of death is “unknown,” you can just insert “autoerotic asphyxiation.”

That’s also true whenever you hear the cause of death is “old age.”

OK by me.

Sounds like as good a way to go as any.
