The Wrestling Match of 'R' vs. 'PG-13' for 'Hancock'

Should the July 4th release of Will Smith film “Hancock” keep true to his traditional PG-13 rating? Or should the film be truer to Vincent Ngo’s legendary script?

Some background here on film.com

I get the studio’s dilemma with Hancock. On one hand you have Vincent Ngo’s much-heralded screenplay on which the film is based. But there’s some fine print that comes along with Ngo’s script: the story is (apparently) rough around the edges, sexualized and more than a little foul.

By the way, “Hancock” is not yet rated.
