Disney, ABC Family HD Channels Now Available on Comcast in Chicago Market Schaumburg, IL — April 4, 2008 — Comcast announced today the launch of two additional high-definition (HD) channels — Disney Channel HD and ABC Family HD — to its already industry-leading HD content in the Chicago area.
“We are proud to announce today the additions of Disney and ABC Family HD channels to the already strong HD lineup currently available to our customers,” said Rich Ruggiero, Comcast Greater Chicago Region Vice President of Communications.
ABC Family HD (Channel 198) is a fun-filled entertainment avenue that parents can enjoy along with their children. The network features original movies, series and specials, including the original series “Greek,” the popular series “Gilmore Girls” and popular movies like “You’ve Got Mail” with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
Disney Channel HD (Channel 197) provides popular family programming through movies and popular series like “That’s So Raven” and “Hannah Montana.” Disney Channel also airs a daily, learning-focused programming block, Playhouse Disney, which showcases new, original characters and classic Disney favorites.
Project Infinity, extension of Comcast’s television and online content, will continue to give customers ever-increasing content choices – more HD, more sports, more movies and network TV. Comcast’s On Demand library has expanded to offer more than 8,000 selections each month and On Demand viewership has grown and has surpassed six billions views since 2003.
