Warner Bros. releases new, official plot synopsis for 'The Dark Knight'

Just in from /Film on April 5, 2008:

Warner Bros has released their Summer Preview kit to press outlets (hence the Get Smart photos posted earlier this morning), and while it doesn’t feature any new photos for The Dark Knight, Warner gives us this new and official plot synopsis:

Warner Bros. wrote:The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan with star Christian Bale, who returns to continue Batman’s war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to destroy organized crime in Gotham for good. The triumvirate proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a rising criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who thrusts Gotham into anarchy and forces the Dark Knight ever closer to crossing the fine line between hero and vigilante.

It’s not much, and of course it’s nothing new to loyal followers, but it is something. IESB.net also mentioned this here on April 4, 2008.
