Buried in a Guardian profile of Scott Rudin was this tidbit:

“He has already started working on the next Coen brothers film, an adaptation of The Yiddish Policemen’s Union by Michael Chabon.”

The Yiddish Policemen’s Union is a detective story taking place in an alternate Alaska where the world’s Jewish state is there, not Israel. And it’s perfect for the Coens.

The Coens are currently finishing “Burn After Reading,” and will begin shooting “A Serious Man” this spring.
