3 Types Of Self Defense Weapons

Non Lethal Self Defense include pepper spray, stun guns and tasers.

* Pepper sprays generate chemical heat that, when sprayed on the face, causes inflammation of the mucus membranes in the eyes, nose, throat and lungs of your attacker. Severe pain as well as the inability to open their eyes or catch their breath allows you to get away. Pepper spray must be targeted towards the face for it to be effective. Wind conditions can make it difficult to aim and may cause it to backfire on you. On the other hand, pepper spray is the most concealable among all self defense weapons. They are often very small and some are even disguised as everyday items such as a lipstick or a pager, perfect self defense for women.

* Stun guns use electrical voltage to stop an attacker. The voltage from a stun gun disrupts the neurological impulses from the brain to the muscles, rendering your attacker temporarily paralyzed. The down side to a stun device is that your attacker has to be right in your face before you can use the weapon against them.

* TASER devices work like stun guns but instead of engaging your attacker in close quarters, you can discharge electric voltage from your TASER from distances as far as 15 feet. Stun guns and TASERs are effective almost anywhere on the body, so if you are attacked from behind or surprised, you don’t need to take aim as you would with pepper sprays.

You miss with a taser and

You miss with a taser and you’d better know Karate!!!! You only get one shot with the taser!

Pepper sprays a much better option and you can protect yourself from a distance against more than one threat with pepper spray!

In response to the comment if you miss with a Taser you better know karate!! That’s why you have to have a secondary cartridge that allows you to carry more than one cartridge with you at a time. The taser guns are easily reloadable in a very short time. Hopefully enough time to not get attacked while trying to reload!! They also have the laser lights so that should make it simpler in terms of your aim accuracy!

TV, DVD, BLU-RAY & THEATER REVIEWS

  • La Haine

CHICAGO – With NATO protests about to descend on Chicago, “La Haine” seems to have as much power as it did on its release almost twenty years ago. It is a visceral, draining experience about class struggles, increased diversity in Paris, economic inequality, and unchanneled rage. In other words, it’s a perfect choice for a Criterion Blu-ray upgrade as the Occupy Movement prepares to descend on the Windy City.

  • One for the Money Blu-ray

CHICAGO – With each passing year, Katherine Heigl’s claims about Judd Apatow’s sexism appear increasingly absurd. While Apatow is producing A-grade work from female filmmakers, such as “Bridesmaids” and HBO’s “Girls,” Heigl is portraying shallow ditzes who are susceptible to chauvinistic, overgrown adolescents. “The Ugly Truth,” “Killers,” “Life as We Know It” and “New Years Eve” is not a track record worth bragging about.
